World Affairs Council of America
The World Affairs Council of Western Massachusetts was started in 1926 as a forum where its members could enrich their professional and personal lives through learning and discussing various aspects of international topics.
Today, through our Brown Bag lunches, Speakers and Visitors programs, and our Resource Guide, we have become a valuable networking tool for local companies that have set their sights on global growth, and a lifelong enrichment for individuals that want to connect with people, places, and issues beyond our borders.
We have recently expanded our mission to focus on interaction with local schools. Several hundred high school students have now participated in at least one World Affairs Council program, including teams from the International Baccalaureate Programme at the High School of Commerce that went to Washington, D.C. where they participated in academic WorldQuest, a national world affairs competition.
